Definition
An idea, opinion, or way of thinking about something.

How it's used
While 想法 is widely understood, native speakers often prefer the more colloquial 睇法 when discussing personal perspectives or opinions on a specific issue. Using 諗法 is also common in casual speech as a direct phonetic representation of how people think about things. Both 睇法 and 諗法 feel more natural in daily conversation than the slightly more formal 想法.

Common mistake
Learners often use 想法 as a direct translation for any kind of thought, but it specifically refers to an opinion or a plan. If you want to talk about the act of thinking itself, use 諗嘢 instead.
