How it's used
Unlike the common Cantonese word 睇落, which is used for subjective impressions, 呈 is a formal morpheme used to describe a specific state, color, or physical condition. It is almost exclusively found in written contexts or formal speech when describing scientific observations or professional reports. You will rarely hear it in casual conversation unless someone is being intentionally precise or academic.
Examples
He looks exhausted, he must be working too hard.

Common phrases
to show an upward trend
Common mistake
Learners often mistake 呈 for a general verb meaning to look, but it cannot be used to describe someone's opinion on how something looks. Use 睇落 or 望落 for casual observations instead.
