How it's used
Functions as both a statement of lack of connection and a polite way to dismiss an apology. When used to mean nevermind, it often carries a reassuring tone to tell the other person that their mistake or inconvenience is not a problem. It is frequently shortened to 冇所謂 in contexts where one is expressing indifference toward a choice.
Examples
This matter has absolutely nothing to do with you.
Sorry about that, it really doesn't matter.

Common phrases
completely unrelated
Common mistake
Learners often confuse this with 唔關你事, which is more direct and can sound confrontational when telling someone to stay out of a situation. Use 冇關係 when you want to be neutral or polite, and reserve 唔關你事 for when you want to firmly establish boundaries.
