How it's used
Celsius is almost exclusively used in scientific, educational, or weather-related contexts in Hong Kong. In casual daily conversation, people frequently drop the word 攝氏 entirely and simply say 度 when referring to temperature, as the Celsius scale is the default standard.
Examples
The weather is so hot today, it's over thirty degrees Celsius.
Do you know that one hundred degrees Celsius is the boiling point of water?

Common mistake
Learners often mistakenly use 攝氏 when referring to body temperature, but in Cantonese, people simply say 幾多度 or 燒緊幾多度 without adding the scale name.
