neutralschool
How it's used
Focus on the completion of specific training or short-term programs rather than university degrees. While it shares characters with the Mandarin term for closing a business, in Cantonese, it is almost exclusively reserved for educational contexts. Use 執笠 when referring to a business closing down to avoid confusion.
Examples
He will finish his course next month.
When are you going to attend the graduation ceremony?

Common mistake
Do not use this to describe closing a shop or restaurant, as it sounds formal and confusing in that context. Stick to 執笠 for business closures.
