Talking about your family
Now that you know the relatives, this lesson helps you claim them as your own. You will pick up the possessive words for “my,” “your,” and “his or her,” then the words for home and family as a whole. With these you can finally say things like “my family” and talk about who lives in your house.
Now let's learn how to talk about YOUR family! We'll use the possessive particle “嘅”, which marks possession like ’s in English. 我嘅 means “my”, 你嘅 means “your”, 佢嘅 means “his” or “her”.

Add 嘅 (ge3) after a pronoun to make it possessive, so “my” is 我嘅 (ngo5 ge3) and “your” is 你嘅 (nei5 ge3).
Combine the possessive 我嘅 (ngo5 ge3) with 屋企人 (uk1 kei2 jan4), the word for family. The latter literally means “house people.”
屋企 (uk1 kei2) means home or house. Add 人 to get 屋企人 (uk1 kei2 jan4), the everyday way to refer to your family.
