How it's used
Distinguish clearly between the physical action of pausing and the physiognomy term. In casual conversation, people rarely use this for a simple pause, preferring 停頓 or 斷開. The face reading usage is highly specific to traditional Chinese fortune telling and is rarely used outside that context.

Common mistake
Do not confuse this with 中途, which refers to the middle of a journey or process. Using 中停 to mean 'halfway through a task' will sound unnatural to native speakers.
