Definition
Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), a defunct standardized examination for secondary school students in Hong Kong.
How it's used
Commonly referred to by its acronym HKCEE or simply as 會考, this exam was the primary public assessment for secondary students before the implementation of the current DSE system. It carries a strong sense of nostalgia for older generations, as it was often viewed as a major life milestone that determined one's future career or academic path. Even though it was discontinued in 2011, the term remains frequently used in casual conversation when people reminisce about their youth.
