I have to go to work on Monday
Learn the seven days
Most Cantonese days are built from one easy pattern: 星期 (sing1 kei4) followed by a number. Learn that and you can count your way from 星期一 (Monday) through 星期六 (Saturday) almost instantly. The one to remember separately is Sunday, 星期日, which swaps the number for 日.
In Cantonese, days of the week use “星期” plus a number. Sunday is special, it uses “日” instead of “七”!

Use 星期 (sing1 kei4) plus a number for Monday through Saturday, for example 星期三 (sing1 kei4 saam1) for Wednesday. Sunday is the exception: 星期日 (sing1 kei4 jat6).
Monday to Saturday line up with the numbers one to six, but Sunday uses 日 (jat6), the word for sun or day, giving 星期日 instead of a number.
Lock in your numbers one to six first, then just add 星期 in front. After that, only Sunday needs separate practice.
