Definition
A unit of currency equivalent to ten cents.
colloquialmoney
How it's used
While technically a standard unit of currency, most Hong Kongers prefer using 毫 to refer to ten-cent coins in daily speech. Using 角 is perfectly understandable but often sounds slightly more formal or is associated with regional dialects outside of Hong Kong. It is common to hear it when discussing currency exchange rates or prices in other Chinese-speaking regions.
Examples
Do you have a few more ten-cent coins?

Common mistake
Do not confuse this with the word for corner or angle, which is also written as 角. In a financial context, it is strictly a unit of money, but in other contexts, it refers to a geometric shape or a corner of a room.
